State TV announces death of North Korea's Kim Jong-il - video

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il died on Saturday 17 December on a train trip, a tearful state television announcer, dressed in black, reported.
The announcer said that the 69-year old had died of physical and mental over-work on his way to give 'field guidance'. The official KCNA news agency described his young son and heir apparent as 'the great successor', urging the nation, people and military to rally behind and 'faithfully revere' Kim Jong-un
