Nigeria: World Health Mission Conducts Medical Mission to Nigeria

The team members consisted of board member and coordinator of the mission, Prof. Soga Ewedemi, vascular surgeon and board member, Dr. Herbert Oye, ICU Nurse, Mrs. Preye Ejovwo-Ottoh and President of World Health Mission and a surgeon, Dr. Olu Sangodeyi. The team members were from Pittsburgh PA, New York NY, and Beckley WV. USA.

The team arrived at the densely populated metropolitan city of Port Harcourt and subsequently travelled to Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State. In Yenagoa, several medical facilities under construction were inspected. The team was invited to the celebration of two years of restoration and transparency in Governance by Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State. Dickson has embarked on multitude of initiatives to transform service in the state by providing the infrastructure that will improve the health care and overall well-being of the Bayelsa people. The WHM paid a visit to the people of Sagbama town. The town had suffered severe flood devastation in September and October of 2012. Monetary contribution collected for that disaster was presented to the community leaders to assist in their quest to build a Town Hall, the identified need of the community and they were encouraged to be dedicated to this cause.
