Folks, it’s Howdy Doody Time!

The U.S. Postal Service has given all you aging baby boomers a chance to rejoice.

Now on sale at your local post office are the 44-cent Early TV Memories Stamps, featuring images of 20 beloved TV shows that aired during television’s Golden Age.

There is Jack Webb and “Dragnet”; “The Lone Ranger”; “Ozzie and Harriet” — the Nelsons.

“The Honeymooners” stamp is a riot.

There is Raymond Burr, who filmed the last of the “Perry Mason” series in the Denver District Courtroom of former District Judge Lynne Hufnagel. And, of course, the cherished — non-government — puppet, Howdy Doody. His sidekicks, Buffalo Bob Smith and Clarabelle the Clown, are not featured.

In Denver, the post office hosted an unveiling of the stamps at the Highland Senior Recreation Center, 2880 Osceola St.

Also depicted on the stamps are Rod Serling of the “Twilight Zone”; Lucille Ball from “I Love Lucy”; and TV’s favorite dog, “Lassie.”

The post office noted that although TV’s Golden Age ran from the late 1940s through the early 1970s, many of the classic TV shows are still enjoyed today in reruns.

The stamps can be purchased at post-office branches; by ordering them with a credit card at 1-800-STAMP-24; or at www.usps.com/shop.
