Gatorade Ends Its Relationship With Tiger Woods

Gatorade officially cut its ties to Tiger Woods on Friday, one week after he admitted to extramarital affairs and said he was unsure when he would return to golf.

“We no longer see a role for Tiger in our marketing efforts and have ended our relationship,” Gatorade said in a statement. “However, our partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation will continue. We wish him all the best."

Gatorade had already begun plans to discontinue its “Tiger Woods” drink in October, before Woods’s Nov. 27 car accident.

Accenture and AT&T have also dropped Woods. Nike has maintained its relationship with Woods.

This is a more complete version of the story than the one that appeared in print.
