Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Afghan and international troops killed a Taliban commander believed to be involved in a bombing attack that killed two Americans, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said on Saturday.
The incident took place Friday night in the Chahar Darah district of Kunduz province in northern Afghanistan.
Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Razaq "was responsible for moving suicide operatives" throughout the eastern part of Kunduz, ISAF said.
He was also believed to be involved in an improvised explosive device strike that killed two U.S. soldiers in the Isa Khan region of Kunduz on Wednesday.
Other insurgents were killed in the operation after people shot and threw grenades at security forces as they searched a compound, ISAF said. Troops returned fire and took over the compound.
