Women in Samburu County, Kenya, in November 2014. Climate change adds extra pressure on pastoralists in this region, as they must travel further to find pasture for their animals, mostly cows. Combined with an influx of small arms in the area, this pressure has intensified competition for resources and violence between local groups such as the Samburu and Turkana peoples.
