Rebuilding Mosul, one street at a time

Fight between ISIL and Iraqi forces left Mosul in ruins, one estimate says it could take 10 years to clear the rubble.

Residents of Mosul in northern Iraq have begun clearing rubble from thousands of bomb-damaged buildings.

The city was besieged by ISIL fighters in 2014 and it took three years for the Iraqi army to defeat the armed group.

Mosul is still in ruins and thousands remain homeless.
