Zimbabwe on Brink of 'Man-Made' Starvation - UN

At least 7,7 million Zimbabweans are food insecure, a UN special envoy has said after touring the southern African country. Meanwhile government has removed duty on all foodstuffs in a bid to ensure essential foodstuffs remain available. Zimbabwe is in the grip of an entrenched economic crisis, pervasive corruption, poverty and a crumbling health system. The economy, crippled by decades of mismanagement under the late former president Robert Mugabe, has so far failed to rebound under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who took over in 2017.
