Burundi celebrated International Women’s Day focusing on the issue of environmental protection for food security and women’s empowerment. The country is experiencing severe impact of climate change, and women, a large proportion of whom rely on farming and are responsible for gathering fuel and water, and supplying food, are particularly impacted.
